The water-testing counter

Bring a sample in. Leave with the numbers.

Fill a clean bottle about 12 inches below the surface and bring it to the counter. We read the water, write down what it needs and when to test again. The fix is on the shelves behind you, or we deliver it.

pH
7.2 to 7.8
The window we steer toward. Outside it, chlorine works poorly and the water turns harsh on skin and equipment.
Total alkalinity
80 to 120 ppm
Holds pH steady between tests.
Calcium hardness
200 to 400 ppm
Protects plaster, tile and heaters.
Cyanuric acid
30 to 50 ppm
Shields chlorine from the Texas sun.

We also read free and total chlorine, and check for metals or bacteria when the water calls for it.

Open six days a week on the Highway 6 frontage road, under the sign that still reads EST. 1987. Here is what customers wrote once the tub was in and the technician had gone home.

“The communication was excellent. Jordan the technician was outstanding, while here he gave tips and tricks to keep my system clean as well as how to maintain it. While he had my hot tub empty he actually took a few extra minutes to put some anti-slip stickers in my tub to help keep me safe.”

“The folks at BVPS are great! Although their work is almost always done in 100 degree plus weather, they never complain. They are top notch folks and highly recommend them.”

“The whole process was thorough and seamless from initial visit to the showroom to purchase on Grand Opening Day to delivery and set-up once the electrical had been run.”

Drain schedules, filter care, sizing and water tests, from the showroom’s own care guide.

Every question we answer

Yes. Wet tests are available in the Highway 6 showroom, so you can sit in the seats, feel the jets and try the lounger before you choose. If the model you want is not on the floor, we can custom order it.

Drain, clean and refill every three to four months. In between, test the water with strips once or twice a week and rinse the filter with a hose every two weeks.

Hose it off every two weeks, give it a deep overnight soak every two months, and replace it once a year.

Start with how many people will use it most nights: tubs come in 2 to 3, 4 to 5, 5 to 6 and 6-plus seat layouts. If you also want to swim or exercise, look at a swim spa, which combines a hot tub with a pool.

Yes. Take a sample from about 12 inches below the surface and bring it to the counter. We check pH, chlorine, alkalinity, calcium hardness and cyanuric acid, then tell you what to add and when to retest.
