What to try in a wet test
A spec sheet can't tell you how a tub feels at the end of a long day, which is why wet tests are available in our showroom. Come in, get in, and spend a few minutes in the seat you would actually use most nights. The Jacuzzi models on the floor are the ones you can try, from the J-375 and J-485 to the J-LXL and the J-16 Power Pro swim spa.
Start with the jets. Move between the seats and notice how they aim: a good tub lets you adjust and direct the flow, so a strong jet on your shoulders doesn't have to be a strong jet on your lower back. Then try the lounger seat if the tub has one, because that's where most people either fall in love or realize they'd rather sit upright.
Check the small things too. How high does the water sit on your chest? Can you climb in and out comfortably? Is there somewhere to put a drink? Ten minutes of honest testing in the Brazos Valley showroom will save you from a tub that looked right in a photo and sits wrong in your backyard.

Sizing by seats, and hot tub versus swim spa
Tubs come in four seating tiers: 2 to 3, 4 to 5, 5 to 6, and 6 plus. Start with how many people will soak together on a typical night, then add a seat or two for the weekends you host. A couple who mostly soaks alone is well served by the smaller tier, while a family that piles in together should look at 5 to 6 seats or more.
A swim spa is a different animal. Jacuzzi describes it as swim, soak and play: it combines what a hot tub does with what a pool does, so you can swim against a current and get a full-body workout without building a full-size pool. It takes more room than a tub, so measure the space before you fall for one.
Not sure which side of that line you're on? Ask yourself whether you want to relax or to exercise. If it's mostly relaxing, a tub is the right call. If you'd use the water to swim laps in place, look at the swim spas. Either way, Jacuzzi builds the shells to help limit heat loss, and the ProEndure cabinetry and UV-resistant materials are made for Texas sun.

Once you've chosen, delivery and set-up follow once the electrical has been run, so it pays to talk to your electrician early about what your tub needs.
